21st Century Skills Training Course 5th Week UPDATE

Hello everyone and welcome back!
We're almost over with the input sessions of this course. This week I've learned so much from our dear teacher Melda Yılmaz and my friends. This session was all about useful applications, tools, and websites that we can utilize. Before going into them, I would like to share some videos that were shared with us on the asynchronous part of our course. I've shared a video of David Crystal not long ago. I really like to listen to his talk and ideas. And I think you might find something for yourself even if you are not an educator of languages. I also made a mental note to watch these videos once in a while to never forget the importance of all the people, identities, and cultures in the world. If you like to watch, I put the links at the end.

So now let's go on with the useful digital tools.
Disclaimer: I'm not going to go into details since I want to dedicate more time and space for each one of these tools.

Edpuzzle: This is a website that allows you to create interactive video activities. You can easily retrieve videos from YouTube and start adding your questions wherever you think is needed. Open-ended, multiple-choice, and short answer questions can be added to the videos. Or you can just give extra information on the subject. It's very entertaining to create and also to watch and practice.

Animoto: On this website, you can create short videos easily. Both teachers and students can create short videos by using the templates on the website.

RenderForest: Similar to Animoto, this website allows you to create videos and also presentations, intros, and logos.

ThingLink: This website is one of my favorites. This allows you to upload an image (even 360° panoramas) and add interactive elements to it. You put a website link, a video, an extra image, a sound or information, and create a meaningful schema for a topic. "Linking to the page"

Tiki-TokiThis timeline maker captured our hearts during the presentation. It's an easy to use website that creates very professional looking work. You can create 3D timelines, interactive media timelines, and so on for any purpose, you'd like to care for. It only allows one free timeline so be aware.

Weebly: It's a website to create a website of your own. You pick a theme and start building your website easily. Editing content is not complicated. Anyone can use and create a website with this tool.

Seesaw: This website can be used as an LMS. Teachers can open a classroom and assign activities to students. There are already made ones too.

Voscreen: This is an application and website created in Turkey. It gives you short videos where you can practice your listening skills with translation.

iSpring Suite: This is an LMS and a website where you can create interactive simulations and role-plays.

Venngage: This website is very similar to Canva. Though I think it's more organized. It also has more templates and options for education purposes.

TED-ed: The last one was Ted-ed. There are hundreds of videos online for educational purposes. You can create interactive videos and lesson plans for your classes.
